Punjabi Food Traditions

We are looking for people mainly from Punjabi background to share their cultural cooking traditions with us.

The project explores cultures and traditions within historical Punjabi communities in Wolverhampton.

It records personal histories of Punjabi women to understand how they used cultural cooking traditions to shape their community in Wolverhampton.

Exploring Punjabi Heritage

This project is funded by Heritage Lottery Fund to explore Punjabi heritage in Wolverhampton how South Asian women used cultural cooking traditions as a means through which to build their lives and to develop kinship networks with other women.

Through the qualitative-interviews we record individual stories of personal histories and experiences developing a historical picture of how Punjabi food traditions enabled women to build their lives in Wolverhampton.
